He didn’t use the blue car for personal purposes, ex Fvg councilor acquitted – News

The former regional councilor and current municipal councilor of Azzano Decimo (Pordenone) Paolo Panontin was acquitted in the first instance by the Court of Trieste of the accusation of having improperly used the blue car for personal purposes and not for needs related to the activity of assessor. The alleged crimes referred to episodes that occurred ten years ago, between May and August 2013. The prosecutor had charged several crimes, from embezzlement to fraud, to false ideology, against him and the driver, the regional employee Fulvio Spiz. The latter was also acquitted, for four of the five charges, while the statute of limitations was imposed for the crime of fraud.

The panel of judges, chaired by judge Enzo Truncellito, accepted the arguments of the defense (Giovanni Borgna for Panontin and Walter Buttignol for Spiz); the public prosecutor had instead asked for a sentence of two years and nine months for the councilor for local government of the Serracchiani junta, and two years and ten months for the driver.

“I humiliated, a nightmare ends,” Panontin posted on his Facebook profile. And a few days ago, on June 30, he had published a long message addressed to his father, who had just been buried, with the regret of “not having been able to demonstrate to you my non-involvement with respect to the accusations made against me”.

Concluding: “I will not leave a scar on our surname”.
