He jumped into the Guatapurí River and drowned

A young man identified as Yeison Andrés Flórez Campuzano, 24 years old, resident in the Los Fundadores neighborhood of Valledupar, died after falling into the Guatapurí River, in the right bank area, when he was hanging out with friends.

According to the authorities and residents of the sector, the victim was allegedly under the influence of intoxicating drinks and when he fell into the tributary at approximately 8:40 a.m. this Sunday, he was unable to get out. When his companions realized what had happened, they notified the authorities, whose relief agencies such as the Civil Defense and officials of the National Army, carried out the search and found the lifeless body, at kilometer 7 in the direction of the river bed.

After that, the authorities in a search team made up of the National Police, uniformed members of the Valledupar Engineer Battalion and the Civil Defense, found the body at approximately 9:30 in the morning, which was taken to Forensic Medicine for the required necropsy.

Due to the heavy rains these days in Valledupar, local authorities recommend not using the Balneario Hurtado and other sectors of the river as it tends to increase the flow.
