Ministry of Education Deepens Educational Cooperation with Montenegro, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan

During the 2024 World Digital Education Conference, Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng met with several foreign dignitaries to discuss further cooperation in the field of education. The conference, held from January 30 to 31, saw the participation of education ministers from Montenegro, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the President of the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO.

Minister Huai Jinpeng expressed China’s willingness to deepen cooperation with Montenegro in higher education, vocational education, language and culture, digital education, and youth exchanges to strengthen the long-term development of China-Montenegro relations. Similarly, he emphasized the importance of comprehensive educational cooperation with Mongolia on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Additionally, he highlighted the need to enrich educational exchanges and cooperation with Kyrgyzstan to enhance the overall cooperation between the two countries.

Following the meetings, a new round of education cooperation agreements were signed between China and Montenegro, as well as an agreement on mutual recognition of academic degrees and degrees. Similar agreements were reached with Mongolia to further strengthen educational cooperation.

In a separate meeting with President of the 42nd General Conference of UNESCO, Chen Jie expressed China’s commitment to continuing cooperation with UNESCO, particularly in the field of education digitization. He also commended the leadership of UNESCO in achieving success at the 42nd General Conference and pledged continued support for the organization’s important role.

The foreign guests expressed their gratitude for China’s warm reception and the fruitful results of the conference. They also expressed their eagerness to further strengthen educational cooperation and deepen mutual exchanges and learning with China in the future.

These discussions and agreements mark an important step in promoting international cooperation in education and fostering partnerships with countries and international organizations to advance the field of education globally.
