Huila authorities intensify operations in areas bordering Tolima, Cauca, Caquetá and Putumayo

In response to recent situations that threaten citizen security, Huila authorities have led a Security Council aimed at comprehensively addressing the criminal challenges that affect the department’s roads.

Departmental authorities, together with representatives of the military and security forces, have outlined strategies to counteract the criminal acts that recently took place on the Neiva – Castilla highway, in the jurisdiction of Aipe, where armed men stole a truck.

“Once we became aware of this situation, the Army and National Police forces were immediately deployed to counteract this action. Despite our efforts, these individuals had already moved to the rural area. Operations are being carried out to try to reach these subjects,” stated the Governor in charge, Camilo Ernesto Lozano,

Colonel Alexander Castillo, commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police, pointed out that, according to the first investigations, the individuals Those involved could have links to the FARC Central General Staff. However, these statements are subject to the conclusion of ongoing investigations.

The Ninth Brigade of the National Army has intensified its operations throughout the department, especially in areas bordering Tolima, Cauca, Caquetá and Putumayo, who face similar security challenges. “Through our intelligence network, we are closely monitoring the situation and carrying out operations to guarantee the safety of all the inhabitants of Huila,” said Colonel Pedro Pablo León, commander of the Ninth Brigade.

The Security Council also addressed cases of interest in the municipalities of La Argentina and Algeciras, related to possible irregularities in the School Feeding Program. “The pertinent complaints have been filed with the competent authorities, and we are working to identify and prosecute those responsible,” Governor Lozano added.
