Heavy Snowfall Causes Disruption in Parts of Hunan, China
Parts of Hunan province in China have been hit by heavy snowfall, causing disruption and challenging conditions for residents. According to the China Weather Network, snowfall continues in most parts of Hunan, with moderate to heavy snow expected in southern Hunan. This has led to heavy snowfall in Yongzhou, Chenzhou, and other areas, with the temperature in the province remaining low.
Yesterday, heavy snowfall was reported in several areas, including southern Xiangxi Prefecture, central Huaihua, Loudi, Changsha, Yiyang, Changde, Yueyang, and Xiangtan. Changsha, Yiyang, Loudi, and Huaihua were among the areas to experience heavy snowstorms, leading to snow accumulation in 63 cities and counties in central and northern Hunan.
The Hunan Provincial Meteorological Observatory has issued a forecast for continued snowfall today, with heavy snow expected in some southern areas and the lowest temperature reaching less than 0℃. Tomorrow is expected to be cloudy to sunny across the province, with the lowest temperature ranging from -5℃ to -3℃. The day after tomorrow, southern Huaihua and western Shaoyang may experience cloudy to rain and snow, with the highest temperature reaching 2~4℃.
Meteorological experts have advised the public to take precautions against the adverse effects of sustained low temperatures and the potential for snow and ice on the roads.
