Governor Ernesto Luna guaranteed in 2023 the supply of two million 64 thousand 438 medical-surgical supplies at the Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar University Hospital, Humnt, in Maturín.
With these drugs and disposable material it was possible to crystallize 377,334 clinical visits in eight vital services.
This was indicated by Juan Carlos Gómez, director of this health center, the only one in the east of the country, with type 4 characterization, who also specified that among the services are the Emergency Laboratory services, with 153,365 samples processed. ; and X-rays, with 67,791 studies.
«In 2023 we exceed the attendance of 2022 by more than 50 percent, which has a record of 126 thousand 6; and regarding the supply of supplies and drugs, it was close to 100 percent, given that in 2022 one million 136 thousand 178 medications were delivered,” he said.
Health policies
The doctor pointed out that the increase in clinical care was due to the improvements, adaptations and rehabilitations that Governor Luna has been carrying out in synergy with the public policies implemented by President Nicolás Maduro.
“After the rehabilitation and recent inauguration by the Governor of the Adult Emergency, which I consider to be the most modern in the country, we were able to improve the care of the people under the direction of the health authorities, which in our case, we do it online with the Ministry of Health led by Magalys Gutiérrez; and in Monagas, the Regional Health Directorate, led by Yerika Alzolay,” he pointed out.
Vital services
The director of the main health provider in the state of Monagas specified the number of care for vital services, namely: Outpatient Consultation, 66,346, given in at least 37 medical specialties; in General Surgery, 7,635, of which 4,697 were elective and 2,938 were emergencies.
Due to the Adult Emergency, 30,047 services were provided; while for the Pediatric Emergency, there were 22,971.
In this regard, Gómez meant that in 2022, in both services, attendances were given in fewer numbers, with 25,449 being counted in the first and only 8,079 in the second service.
New projects
Dr. Juan Carlos highlighted that on the fourth day of this new year, the head of the regional Executive made the first visit and technical inspection to the Maturín Central Hospital together with the president of the Ecosocialism, Habitat and Housing Infrastructure Institute (InfraMonagas), Guillermo Sánchez. ; and the director of the Monagas State Police Corps, Colonel Eduardo Alberto Almérida Padrón; for the purposes of defining new projects for improvements and adaptations of the structure.
Likewise, the official said, the optimization of access to this healthcare center was considered, which includes the safety and integrity of doctors, patients and family members.
