MONTEBELLUNA. The official status is still missing, but the candidate for mayor of the League and consequently of the center-right coalition will be Adalberto Bordin, the current group leader. This is what emerges from Northern League sources after the militants met the other evening in the presence of the provincial secretary Gianangelo Bof, who declared at the meeting that the first days of next week will announce the name of the mayoral candidate in Montebelluna. But everyone is already certain that it will be Adalberto Bordin.

Four of them had left to be the candidate for mayor of the League, then Elzo Severin, the outgoing one, withdrew from the race, Marco Tappari will continue to be president of the “Villa Belvedere” retirement home in Crocetta for another term and therefore out he too from the race, the group leader Adalberto Bordin and the councilor for public works Michele Toaldo remained in the race. The two will meet in the next few days to define the internal balance after all those present had guaranteed that the party would be united and compact, whichever of the two was ultimately the mayoral candidate. Adalberto Bordin had as significant sponsor the former mayor and current regional councilor Marzio Favero and the current acting mayor Elzo Severin, indeed when five years ago Marzio Favero had not confirmed him as councilor but had wanted him as group leader he had made him understand which was a necessary sacrifice for a political career. Michele Toaldo had on his side, however, the most historic wing of the League, given his very long militancy while that of Bordin has about ten years, because he had joined the party after he had become councilor in the first Favero council. To establish peace between the two and avoid splits as was clear from the internal chat, an agreement was sought and probably for Toaldo there are promises of future assignments. Another element that emerges from the decisions in the League’s home is that the deputy mayor will be from FdI. It was known that FdI liked Toaldo more than Bordin, but it was equally true that they would have been obedient to the decisions taken at the provincial and regional level and therefore no raising of shields by FdI as the center-right civics hoped.

For the post of deputy mayor, in the event of a victory for the center-right, the most accredited name seems to be that of Claudio Borgia, councilor for education. Once the name of the Northern League candidate for mayor is made official, the party will put his hand to the list of candidate councilors and it will be in that case that the two souls of the party will dispute the places. Another element emerged from the meeting of the League section: they all went in love and agreement. The formation of the list was still in the embryonic stage, the speakers spent their time to ensure that the Montebelluna League presents itself as a compact and have dwelt on outlining their vision of the Montebelluna of futureEnzo Favero
