Industrial production was generally stable, and the growth rate of manufacturing continued to be higher than the province. Data show that in the first quarter, the province’s industrial added value increased by 6.4% year-on-year, compared with the fourth quarter of 2021, the growth rate rebounded by 1.1 percentage points. Among them, the added value of the manufacturing industry increased by 6.9% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 0.5 percentage points higher than the average growth rate of the province’s regulated industries.
High-tech manufacturing led the growth, and the electronics industry continued to run at a high level. In the first quarter, the added value of the province’s high-tech manufacturing industry increased by 12.9% year-on-year, which was 6.5 percentage points higher than the average growth rate of the province’s regulated industries. In the first quarter, the added value of the province’s equipment manufacturing industry increased by 9.7% year-on-year, and the growth rate was 3.3 percentage points higher than the average growth rate of the province’s designated industries. The rate reached 75.1%, which has an obvious supporting effect on the industry above the scale. From the perspective of sub-sectors, the production and sales of new energy-related industries such as photovoltaics and lithium batteries are booming, and the added value of battery manufacturing, power transmission and distribution and control equipment manufacturing has increased by 45.2% and 21.1% year-on-year, respectively, and the growth rates are much higher than the industrial average. Growth rate, the output of charging pile equipment, new energy vehicles, lithium-ion batteries, photovoltaic cells and other products increased by 5.0 times, 1.7 times, 50.8%, and 16.1% year-on-year respectively.
The support of large and medium-sized enterprises is obvious, and the production growth of the top 100 enterprises is good. In the first quarter, the single-digit proportion accounted for only about 10%, and the total added value accounted for more than 60% of Jiangsu Province’s large and medium-sized enterprises. The contribution rate of industrial added value growth above the designated size reached 68.2%, driving the growth of industrial added value above designated size by 4.4 percentage points, becoming an important supporting force for the steady growth of industrial production in the province. From the perspective of major industries, in the first quarter, exports of electrical (27.7%), special equipment (32.6%), chemicals (44.7%), metal products (33.3%), textiles and apparel (25.2%), and pharmaceuticals (26.5%) increased in exports.
