Controls in the capital, penalties for 2 thousand euros removed. Gallo: “Punctual checks are planned throughout the month”
TREVISO. The Viminale circular explained that it will not be the managers who will have to check the Green passes, but any inspections by the police. Targeted or random checks, or collateral to other services. But he also said that the fines are there and will be done. So, punctually, here are the first: five, for a total of two thousand euros.
The controls
Leading the controls is the provincial capital which sanctioned five patrons of a public place. Not a bar or a restaurant, but a betting center, subject like other businesses to compliance with the same anti Covid rules. It all started with an “ordinary administration” activity carried out by the commercial unit of the local police together with the emergency department with the help of the anti-drug canine unit. The aim was to verify what was happening inside the betting center in the stadium area, but also the possible presence of drug dealers (the area has been repeatedly visited for this). The checks on the Green pass were not on the agenda, but “since there is clear legislation in force” explained the commander of the local police Andrea Gallo, “the agents also carried out these checks”.
Moreover, more than someone in the area had reported the gathering at various hours inside the center. Thus, out of nine customers present inside the betting center opened under the buildings at the curve of the football stadium, the brigade found nine without a pass. The expected penalty (400 euros each) has been raised to the five people without the green certificate but now – even despite the clarifications given by the Interior Ministry – even the holder risks the penalty for failure to check. But in the meantime the manager of the center will have to think about the sting that was detached from him by the agents for the total covering of the windows with blackout films that prevented the room from being monitored; a violation that includes a fine of up to 8,000 euros. Controls were then extended to the nearby bar. The patrons were all identified and some, with a criminal record, reported to the Police Headquarters, but there were no problems with the Green pass.
“The checks will be done”
“The checks are part of an urban security plan that we are carrying out,” explains the commander of the local police Gallo. «Also in the month of August the checks will be punctual and continuous». Maybe it will not be a question of checks aimed at the Green pass theme, the command suggests, “but every check in public places will be followed by the request for Green passes to those found inside them”.
We do not intend to tread on the issue, but it is taken for granted that the green pass is one of the elements to be checked, such as insurance when a car stops.

In and out of the historic centers, in the municipalities of the province and also in the premises of the countryside or hills, to remedy the possible control, or the “vax” – “No vax” controversy, the managers continue to push to multiply the tables and the open spaces and there are even some places that, to get out of the way, have proposed by default to reserve the tables inside for vaccinated people, and tables outside for customers without a pass.
