Another piece is added to the project for the construction of the Gigafactory for the production and storage of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles in the former Olivetti district of Scarmagno. The technological partnership agreement, defined as a “fundamental step for the development of the Italian gigafactory”, between Italvolt and Abb, a global technology company, for front end engineering and design (Feed), was signed on Tuesday 12 October between the Swedish entrepreneur Lars Carlstrom, founder and CEO of Italvolt, and Mauro Martis, cluster’ac manager south Europe, process industries of Abb, with over 105 thousand employees in 100 countries.

The technological partnership concerns the design and development of electrification and automation solutions for production processes, consultancy on robotics for the transport and handling of materials, the search for solutions for the collection and storage on the cloud and the analysis of data for production planning.
