Ituri: Jean-Pierre BEMBA leads an intercommunity dialogue for peace in Bunia

Deputy Prime Minister of Defense Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo opened an intercommunity dialogue for lasting peace on Thursday April 25 in Bunia in Ituri.

All 21 communities of Ituri, religious denominations, and members of civil society take part.

Representatives of active armed groups signatories to the recent act of cessation of hostilities are also participating in these discussions.

Jean-Pierre Bemba wants to involve all these local actors in this process in order to make a deep diagnosis of the causes of insecurity in this province and find lasting solutions together, so that this part of the country long scarred by massacres since 2017, regains the peace.
