Ivrea, the new Tari tariffs in the Council: reductions of up to 90% for activities affected by Covid closures

520 thousand euros allocated to cover domestic and non-small users: “Soon another 90 thousand euros for those in difficulty”

More than 520 thousand euros to reduce the Tari especially to companies and commercial activities, tested by the Covid emergency. To which will be added another 90 thousand dedicated only to domestic users and people in difficulty. The council will bring to the city council tonight, Wednesday 30 June, the approval of the new tariffs and the 2021 financial plan. The reductions, already promised and strongly desired by the deputy mayor with responsibility for the Elisabetta Piccoli Budget, were highly anticipated by traders who have repeatedly stressed through trade associations how they are more effective than direct funding. Also in this case, the mechanism will privilege those activities that have undergone longer closures. «We will apply very strong reductions – explains Piccoli – which will range from 25% to 90% for non-domestic users. We have set up an allocation of 301 thousand euros just for this purpose. From the restricted surplus, 219 thousand euros will be made available for domestic and non-domestic users. To these we would like to add another 90 thousand euros specifically dedicated to people in difficulty. I think, for example, of those who had to close a business and are now also in trouble with Tari at home. In this case it will be necessary to present the ISEE to access the reductions “.

As far as domestic rates are concerned, the envisaged reductions are around 20%, but will largely prevent an increase on the fixed part of the rate. «Let’s say that we will go down a little for everyone – explains Piccoli again -, except for those who have particular or previous situations to heal. I think it is important to underline, however, that we will act on both the variable and the fixed part. Because we do not have a punctual rate: that is, we do not pay the full amount of the tax for the waste we produce. There is a fixed part concerning administrative costs, which unfortunately are often the most expensive ».

Another work that they have carried out from the municipal offices, in this period, was the control, crossing and cleaning of the databases, which allows them to make savings. “We have seen that there are buildings without utilities that were marked – explains Piccoli -. In other cases there were double positions. In the next two years, what we want to do is bring our database and the land registry closer together. Unfortunately, there are incorrect positions that generate incorrect rates, with the inclusion of properties that are not present. Let’s say that it is a constant work concerning the intersections that can be made today with technology. It is also important to rebalance the rates: we were at 50 and 50 between domestic and non-domestic, today we are at 52 and 48 which is more proportionate “.
