Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 26: The ninth meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress concluded on the morning of the 26th at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. After voting, the meeting adopted the Degree Law, the Tariff Law, and decisions on amending the Agricultural Technology Promotion Law, the Minors Protection Law, and the Biosafety Law. President Xi Jinping signed Presidential Orders No. 22, 23, and 24 respectively and announced them. Chairman Zhao Leji presided over the closing meeting.
166 members of the Standing Committee attended the meeting, and the number of attendees met the quorum.
The meeting voted to adopt the decision of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on ratifying the Treaty between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Mauritius on Judicial Assistance in Criminal Matters, the decision on ratifying the Treaty on Judicial Assistance in Criminal Matters between the People’s Republic of China and Nepal, and the decision on ratifying the Treaty on Judicial Assistance in Criminal Matters between the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Mauritius. The Extradition Treaty between the Republic of China and the Republic of Senegal, and the Decision on the Ratification of the Extradition Treaty between the People’s Republic of China and the Hellenic Republic.
The meeting voted and approved the report of the Representative Qualification Review Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress on the representative qualifications of individual representatives.
The meeting also voted and approved the relevant appointment and removal cases.
