I RedWine

An ironic but not too much reflection on the age when one is too adult for young life

IVREA. This long San Savino 2022 will end in music and, hopefully, with a flourish, with the concert La cura della boredom, held by RedWine on Sunday evening at 9 pm, in the courtyard of the Garda museum, the last appointment of the entertainment program developed. by the Ivrea Events Committee, chaired by Daniele Gismondi who can well say that he won what, until a few weeks ago, seemed a challenge that was anything but simple to face. Well known in the city and surroundings for being the winners, in 2013, of the Ivrea music competition, RedWine is now a well-known band far beyond the regional borders.

The musical line-up is currently composed by Francesco Quesada, from San Giusto Canavese, voice and acoustic guitar, Nicola De Stefano, from Chiaverano, voice and electric guitar, Davide Molino, from Castellamonte, accordion and keyboards, Stefano Benedetto, from Romano Canavese, bass and keyboards, Lorenzo Pallante, from Ivrea, ethnic stringed and bass instruments, Veronica Penna, from Caravino, violin, and Riccardo Ribotta, from Montalto Dora, drums and percussion.

The group was born in 2010. RedWine has released 3 albums (At the end of the world, in 2012; Controvento, in 2015; La cura per la boredom, in 2021) and have played in important Piedmontese music reviews, including A night like this Festival, Miscela Rock Festival and Tavarock, Reset, climbing on the stages of clubs such as the Hiroshima mon Amour, in Turin, the Audiodrome, in Moncalieri, and the Concordia Theater, in Venaria, and opening concerts by artists such as Stiliti, Statuto and Modena City Ramblers. With the delightful video of The cure for boredom, RedWine signed, in 2020, their entry into the Indiependence family. The song was also the title track of the homonymous album released later. “The cure for boredom – explain the introductory notes – is an ironic reflection but not too much: the RedWine tell the feeling that you get when you are too young to feel ready for the rest of life as an adult and already too adult to still feel suited to life as a young man. You can be poets, philosophers, artists or doctors, but you still end up looking for the morality of the days at the bottom of a glass of discounted beer: an incurable illness of the soul or simply the first symptoms of belonging to the club of beautiful losers, beautiful and losers, nocturnal? But perhaps the cure is there, exists, and is hidden on the banks of the Po, or more likely in an inevitable escape ».
