“In this sequence we are at the 18th birthday party of Chiara’s sister, the protagonist. His family is still reunited and peaceful ”, explains Jonas Carpignano, director of A Chiara. “The idea was born after attending a real eighteenth birthday in Gioia Tauro. Four years later I called that same family to recreate that precise moment ”.
The film tells the story of Chiara Guerrasio, a girl from Gioia Tauro. When his father leaves town without warning, he wants to find out what prompted him to leave. This research will lead her to look at her parents and the place where she lives with different eyes, wondering about her own future.
