The price of sugar falls on the market. This observation was made on Thursday by capsud.net.
Sold at 165,000 CDF, the bag of sugar from the Kwilu-ngongo brand now costs 157,000 CDF. That is, a reduction of 8,000 CDF.
According to a manager of a sugar warehouse, this drop is justified by the increase in supply.
« The market is flooded with sugar. This is what justifies the price drop. The way I see it, the decline could continue“, he said.
Apart from sugar, certain products have also seen price drops. Among these products, we can cite: vegetable oil and cooking salt.
Sold during the festive period at 10,900 CDF, the price of a can of oil drops to 10,300 CDF. That of kitchen salt was 23,500 CDF, it now costs 21,150 CDF.
It should be noted that the DRC is one of the African countries affected by inflation. Reforms are underway to resolve this crisis.
