CRESPANO. He fell into a 20 meters deep cliff, Rei, a labrador, was saved by the firefighters who abseiled to return him to his master. It happened on Sunday morning near the Beata Vergine del Covolo sanctuary in Crespano del Grappa. The dog was walking through the woods with his master, when, perhaps attracted by some animal, he fell over twenty meters into the cliff.
The owner, realizing that it was impossible to recover Rei alone, gave the alarm to 115. The firefighters who rushed from Montebelluna with the volunteers from Asolo, also called in the Treviso colleagues of the SAF nucleus (speleo alpine river). The staff prepared the descent and an operator reached Rei. The labrador got caught up and harnessed.
Rei, who did not suffer any injuries, was nevertheless visited by a veterinarian present on the spot, and after some pampering by the fire brigade team, he was returned to the owner.
