The president, Gustavo Petro Urrego, installed Laura Camila Sarabia Torres as the new director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic (Dapre).
Sarabia Torres assumes this important responsibility in replacement of Carlos Ramón Gonzálezwho was installed as National Director of Intelligence (DNI) in an official ceremony.
With a career in the political and administrative field, Sarabia Torres is a professional in International Relations and Political Studies from the Nueva Granada Military University. In addition, she has a specialization in Political Marketing and Campaign Strategies, as well as a Master’s Degree in Political Communication from the Externado University of Colombia.

The new director of Dapre has held key roles in the Congress of the Republic, serving as a political advisor, legislative and communications advisor. In addition, she was the chief of staff of President Gustavo Petro.
Since September 4, 2023, Sarabia Torres was at the head of Social Prosperity, “where he promoted government policies for the benefit of the most vulnerable communities in the country,” the presidency added.
It is worth mentioning that the new Director of Dapre is being investigated by the Attorney General’s Office and the Prosecutor’s Office when she is involved due to the disappearance of a sum of money in her home. This incident led to a polygraph test being carried out on a former employee, which sparked an intense controversy that ended in Sarabia’s departure from the Government, at that time.
