Li Qiang and German Chancellor Scholz Jointly Attend Sino-German Economic Advisory Committee Symposium
On April 16, 2024, Premier Li Qiang and German Chancellor Scholz participated in the Sino-German Economic Advisory Committee symposium at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The symposium provided a platform for communication between the leaders and more than 20 entrepreneurs from both China and Germany.
During the event, Li Qiang emphasized the significance of the economic and trade cooperation between China and Germany. He highlighted the importance of maintaining an open and fair market environment to cultivate competitive enterprises and achieve mutual benefits for both countries. Li Qiang also expressed China’s commitment to expanding high-level opening up and providing policy support to facilitate smoother cooperation between Chinese and German enterprises.
Scholz acknowledged China as Germany’s most important economic and trade partner and expressed Germany’s dedication to deepening economic and trade exchanges with China. He welcomed Chinese companies to invest in Germany and reiterated Germany’s opposition to “decoupling”, emphasizing the importance of strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations.
In attendance at the symposium was Wu Zhenglong, further enhancing the discussions on enhancing mutual understanding and trust between China and Germany through collaborative efforts from both countries’ entrepreneurs.
