Local crafts are exhibited in the museum. Combining artistic crafts and city museums for the promotion of high school products of local craftsmanship is the purpose of the operation launched by the Municipality for the reorganization of the sales spaces of the Rizzarda gallery and later also of the Civic museum, where products can be purchased. of the Feltre masters. A way to crown the visitor experience, but also to support craftsmanship, even more so in this period of Covid emergency with all that that entails.

The Municipality has entrusted Silvia Decet and Sergio Innocente with the creation of the first jewels for the new bookshop of the “Carlo Rizzarda” modern art gallery. It starts from here, with a selection of earrings, bracelets, pendants, necklaces in various materials (silver, gold, iron, Murano glass, steel, leather), inspired by the artifacts on display.

“We made an inspection of the museum and got ideas on which to work to make a series of jewels, taking up both the motifs of the Rizzarda decoration, therefore the iron, and the suggestions of the glass of the new Franzoia-Nasci collection”, says Silvia Decet, who he works the lamp glass in the manner of Murano (besides being a ceramist). Together with the goldsmith Sergio Innocente, the commitment is to combine contemporary craftsmanship with the museum aspect. «We have always had a particular regard for the Rizzarda collection, which inspired the artifacts we are making, with a contemporary eye because they are wearable items. We have taken up the materials of iron and glass, adding silver and gold ».

The operation was conceived by the administration precisely to continue the cultural and emotional experience experienced while admiring the exhibitions in a contemporary key. “It’s a great challenge,” says Silvia Decet. “The idea of this bookshop seemed to us a good thing both for visitors and for local artisans who may have some visibility,” he points out. «They are refined objects, which intend to give a careful start to this project, which we hope will continue with other productions by other local artisans. The hope is that the initiative will extend to other types of crafts that can be combined well with museum contexts », he highlights. “Supporting craftsmanship these days is definitely a good thing. Everything has become very virtual, but craftsmanship must be seen and touched, it is difficult to make it remotely “.

Sergio Innocente adds that «it is a great satisfaction to be able to participate in this project. It is very interesting to see that there is an artistic journey that continues to move forward and does not stop ». The standard is that of a high quality level. In a museum that with the theme of glass will become even more a reference in the decorative arts, the administration considers it an added value to have a bookshop that reasons in the enhancement of the handcrafted product, inspired by the works of the Rizzarda gallery. –
