At approximately 11:27:54 pm on the 19th, an earthquake occurred in the sea area 96km north-northeast of Tsushima Island, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.
This is about 50km away from Busan in a straight line, and the Korea Meteorological Administration determined that shaking equivalent to seismic intensity 2 was felt in Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, Daegu, Busan, and Ulsan.
Intensity 2 is shaking that can only be felt by a few people in quiet conditions or on upper floors of buildings. The Korea Meteorological Administration reported the situation, saying, “No earthquake damage is expected.”
Meanwhile, according to the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters, about 40 earthquake reports were received for about 10 minutes starting at 11:28 when the earthquake occurred. 14 reports were also received in Gyeongnam, but it was confirmed that there were no reports of damage in both regions.
