María Corina Machado stated this Monday that the Nicolás regime Maduro will not choose who will face him in the presidential elections and reiterated the trust that Venezuelans expressed in her on October 22, when they elected her as the democratic opposition candidate for this year’s elections. She acknowledged, however, that Chavismo will do everything possible to prevent her from running.
«We are going to defeat Maduro in presidential elections and we are going to do it together. The regime failed to comply

The leader, surrounded by the leaders of different political parties of the opposition Unitary Platform, added: “I was in Barinas when they announced the alleged disqualification against me. And I said that it was a useless disqualification, and I confess that I was wrong, because that action of the regime became the great lever that aroused the rage of a country and that channeled it all into the unequivocal result of October 22. And the same thing is happening with this date of January 26. If they believe that they declared disqualification, let them know it well: On January 26 they declared the end of this tyrannybecause the people are clear and will not let what was their mandate be taken away from them.
“It is the worst mistake they have made to date and it seals the defeat of this system,” he emphasized.
María Corina Machado also asked the international community to intercede in the Venezuelan political conflict to stop Maduro’s repressive actions. “And I ask you to join your forces and concrete actions to guarantee that we will have clean, free and competitive elections and that the date be set for this electoral process with the conditions and the candidacy that the people chose.”
“We are going to win and they must prepare to lose,” he declared.
