“In this scene the protagonist, Luca, has the opportunity to enter a power game”, says in the video Massimo Donati, director of Spice diary. “But to succeed he must renounce his ethics, allow himself to be corrupted”.
The film tells the meeting between a shy chef expert in spices, Luca Treves (Lorenzo Richelmy), and Andreas Dürren-Fischer (Fabrizio Ferracane), a famous and worldly restorer of Flemish paintings. Luca sees in him the opportunity to leave the quiet provincial restaurant where he works to pursue his professional ambitions, but does not know that his friend actually hides a controversial past.
