For the 7,000 graduates in the province of Treviso, the main novelty, compared to 2020, will coincide with the possibility of rejection. “Of course, the boys went to class less than expected”, comments Mario Dalle Carbonare, manager of the Da Vinci, “but the message could not pass that whatever the piece of paper does I will take it anyway”.
A clear change of pace compared to the 2020 emergency session. All while the Treviso high school students have collected no more than two months in attendance and for a couple of weeks they have sunk back into total Dad. “But Dad still means training. So much so that absences are also noted, as if it were normal teaching », remarks Antonia Piva, dean of the Duke of Abruzzi.
The colleague Mariarita Ventura, from Canova, however, underlines: «The class councils will have to pay attention to the conditions in which the distance learning took place. We have given computers on loan for use and ensured support in the internet connection since September, guaranteeing constant participation to all pupils. Summing up, it is our duty to go back to assessing the merit ».
For the rest, the Maturity – the ordinance signed by the new minister Patrizio Bianchi is a few weeks ago – will propose the single oral (in presence) and will not include the written tests for the second year in a row. A choice welcomed by the managers, who asked in choir not to consider it a “Serie B exam”. «It is a long and full-bodied test – Piva says – which requires the presentation of a paper comparable to a small degree thesis. No longer the “free” essay of the past ».
An oral who could also enjoy a post-pandemic perspective. At least according to what the manager Dalle Carbonare pointed out: «For me the writings are outdated, you already do them in abundance during the year. The oral exam, on the other hand, allows for the enhancement of wide-ranging skills: as it is structured, in my view, it could have a reason for being in the next few years “.
Renata Moretti, manager of Besta, returns to the non-admissions: «It is important to have a close look at the evaluation. I would have preferred the addition of an Italian test, but rightly reasons related to safety prevailed. The oral however requires the drafting of a laborious elaborate. And the timing on the modalities have improved ». –
