The Senate of the Republic, in a session of the Territorial Planning Commission, approved the entry of the department of Meta into the Administrative and Planning Region, RAP Llanos, of which Arauca, Casanare and Vichada are already part.
The purpose of this union is to structure and leverage development projects for the four departments, taking into account their common strengths.
The accession of Meta represents a historic and important fact for Casanare, Arauca and Vichada who were already part of the RAP Llanos, and will also strengthen the management of resources and projects of the 9 lines of work established for the development of the region.
Under this integration scheme, the four departments will be able to present and execute joint projects with high regional impact in terms of connectivity, productivity, tourism, livestock, sustainable agricultural production, among others.
Furthermore, and as part of the Governors’ commitments, the purpose is for the RAP Llanos to serve as an engine of development, peace and compliance with the challenges of the social and economic reactivation process.
The governor of Meta, Rafaela Cortés Zambrano, expressed her gratitude to the Territorial Planning Commission and the Senate of the Republic, for their tireless work towards the development of Meta and the well-being of its inhabitants.
