The police had also asked the public several times to keep their eyes open. The 88-year-old could also have gotten on public transport, it was said. He was reported missing by his daughter on January 15th. According to nursing staff, he left the house around 2 p.m. that day and didn’t come back. After an initial search in the area, a large contingent of search teams was set up: 200 emergency services, 40 search dogs and several drones were deployed.
Finally, on Thursday around 4:30 p.m., a 35-year-old from the Linz-Land district found the missing person on a difficult-to-access and overgrown green strip between his property and the noise barrier on the B 1. The emergency doctor who was called could only determine that the man was dead. No foul play is assumed.
