More than 227 thousand visitors arrived in Valledupar for the Festival

Through the Socioeconomic Observatory of the Valledupar Chamber of Commerce, an assessment of what was left by the 57th Vallenata Legend Festival was delivered, in tribute to Iván Villazón, demonstrating that it is the most important festival in Colombia for mobility, economy and tourism.

More than 227,727 people came to the capital of Cesar to enjoy five days of celebration, that is, 8% more compared to 2023, exceeding expectations in terms of participation, in addition to having generated a notable economic and tourist impact in the region .

The data reveal an increase of 4% in income by land terminal, 30% by air in 118 air operations; and 8% by land in private vehicles. Visitors were received from Bogotá, Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Cartagena, Bucaramanga, among other cities in the country.

Likewise, international visitors from Argentina, Canada, Chile, Spain, Holland, Mexico, Panama and Venezuela, reported José Luis Urón, president of the Valledupar Chamber of Commerce.

“It was proven that the Vallenato Festival is the best party in the country, surpassing the Barranquilla Carnival. This phenomenon does not occur anywhere in the national territory, here visitors live together like at home,” he assured.

OTHER FIGURES

Regarding hotel occupancy, 278 establishments offered the accommodation service with 3,126 beds and 1,870 rooms, covering a hotel capacity of 79%, a figure similar to last year.

Sales increased by 60% compared to last year in bars and clubs, where 70% of sales were motivated by tourists.

For 53% of the sellers, the sales behavior this season was higher than that of 2023. 71% are stationary sellers and 29% are mobile sellers.

30% of the vendors came from other regions such as: Santa Marta, Barranquilla and Bogotá, improving the participation of local vendors during the five days of the festival.

“With this we want to demonstrate to the national government that the popular economy is moving in Valledupar, which is why soft loans, advice and support are required, because there is a willingness to work,” reiterated the president of the Valledupar Chamber of Commerce.

SECURITY LEFT AN EXAMPLE

In terms of security, the balance reflects zero events to regret, therefore, we must recognize the work of the public forces and intelligence agencies that guaranteed that tourists enjoyed the most in all modalities. 60% of attendees had a good perception regarding safety.
