Naked-eye 3D ice projection debuts to “decorate” the Beijing Winter Olympics_Domestic News_News Channel

On the curling arena that started last night (2nd), the naked-eye 3D ice projection made its debut, “decorating” the arena.

On the evening of February 2, before the official opening of the first round of mixed doubles curling at the Winter Olympics, the Winter Olympics sports display team demonstrated the cultural connotation of curling in a unique way of integrating Chinese and Western. After the opening countdown, a “little curling pot” floated down from the Chinese-style folding fan painting environment, passed through the beautiful painting environment composed of plums, orchids, bamboo and chrysanthemums that symbolize traditional Chinese culture, and floated into the “more than enough every year” pond. The moonlight in the sky floats over the pond, and the water ice is magically transformed to form a curling track. After experiencing the baptism of ice and snow, the “little curling” transformed into Olympic curling, galloping all the way to the end of victory, and finally transformed into snowflake particles blooming to form the five Olympic rings.

This is the first large-scale use of ice projection technology in the history of the Winter Olympics. The curling projection team combines the characteristics of the competition project and traditional Chinese cultural elements, integrates digital technology, and adopts the design method of “dual-screen linkage”, so that the large screen on the east side of the arena echoes the pictures of the four tracks, making 3D projection more space. It created the most dazzling three-dimensional projection on the ice surface, staged a three-dimensional art performance on the ice of the Winter Olympics, and demonstrated the new height of China’s digital imaging technology.
