Nanchang University responds to Li Jiaqi’s academic turmoil: leave school early to close | Morning Post

by admin

In response to the e-commerce top anchor Li Jiaqi falling into the “high school diploma” turmoil, his alma mater Nanchang University Alumni Work Office issued a statement yesterday through the official account saying that Li Jiaqi is a full-time undergraduate student majoring in dance at Nanchang University in 2011 and has studied and lived at the school for nearly four years. In 2016, he left school early due to work reasons and was closed.

According to The Paper, a picture of Li Jiaqi’s election to the Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Congress candidate for the 198 constituency was circulated on the Internet. Among them, Li Jiaqi’s information read: male, born in October 1992, Han nationality, masses, high school education. This has raised questions from netizens about fraudulent academic qualifications.

Li Jiaqi’s academic qualifications were previously reported by public reports that his alma mater was Nanchang University, and he himself appeared on Nanchang University’s official Weibo many times as an alumnus.

The relevant person in charge of Li Jiaqi’s American wrist company explained the day before yesterday, “Li Jiaqi did have studied at Nanchang University and left school early due to work reasons. The highest degree of our previous application materials was a high school degree.”
