Networks turn to deny publication by The Economist regarding El Salvador

The renowned international media, The Economist, shared a note stating that the “hard hand” will not defeat gangs in Latin America. However, social media users affirmed that El Salvador has been a success story, reducing homicides by almost 70% in 2023.

“The El Salvador government’s relentless crackdown on gangs led to a 70% decrease in murders in 2023,” readers stated, citing different sources that demonstrated their veracity.

It should be noted that since the Exception Regime was implemented in El Salvador, the country has become the safest on the Spanish-speaking continent. Likewise, gangs are practically eradicated, when before they were predominant in the national territory.
