IVREA. Green light from the Health Commission to the planning drawn up by the council for the construction of six new hospitals thanks to the funds made available by Inail’s three-year investment plans. Among these six there is also the Ivrea hospital.

A first resolution that will allow the regional council to proceed with the subsequent technical-financial steps after the final vote of the Regional Council. «Overall – explained Alessandro Stecco (Lega), who chairs the commission – there are six interventions for a total amount of one billion and 285 million euros. In detail, the need was identified to create new first-level Dea hospitals to replace the Maria Vittoria and Amedeo di Savoia in the Asl City of Turin (amount 185 million euros), the hospital of Ivrea in the Asl To4 (amount 140 million euros), of Sant’Andrea di Vercelli (amount 155 million euros), which could be built on the land behind the existing building and already owned by the Asl Vc, and the hospitals of Savigliano, Saluzzo and Fossano in the ASL Cn1 (amount 195 million euros). To these are added two other hospitals – Dea di

second level, to replace the Santi Antonio e Biagio hospital in Alessandria (amount 300 million euros) and the Santa Croce and Carle hospitals in Cuneo (amount 310 million euros) “.

«For our healthcare this is undoubtedly a great opportunity, which tends towards the more general objective of a modernization of the territorial network both in terms of the quality of the structures and in terms of the relationship with the patient and the improvement of the services provided. A purpose harmonically shared by Inail, although some technical issues remain to be resolved. The design, for example, accounts for about 8% of the total amount, money that is included in the loan but should be advanced by the Region: for this reason discussions are underway with the institute to find a formula that allows it to anticipate this sum. The Region, for its part, undertakes to recognize an annual rent equal to 2.5% of the entire investment, to cover a renewable lease with a duration of twenty years “.

THE POSITION OF 18 STATUTORY AUDITORS

Eighteen mayors of Alto Canavese, Basso Canavese and Valchiusella have meanwhile taken a position, detailed in a letter, on the location of the next hospital. This in view of the next ASL / To4 Mayors’ Conference on 9 December, during which the site of Palazzo Uffici 2 will also be proposed as a possible location for the New pivotal hospital serving Ivrea and the entire Canavese area, underline that on the new proposal, the Piedmont Region will eventually have to evaluate, like the two already consolidated proposals of the Montefibre Area and the Ivrea motorway tollbooth area.

They underline what the criteria should be for choosing the new hospital:

1) easy accessibility from all over the territory, for ordinary transport but also in particular for emergencies (including those by helicopter);

2) structural expandability to implement second-level technologies serving the entire extended territory of the ASL / To4 and its other hospitals (for example Radiotherapy Accelerators);

3) the possibility of hosting a modern architectural project with horizontal development that allows its humanization and environmental insertion but also the compartmentability in healthy / infected areas, with separate access routes, indispensable in times of pandemic, as well as the availability of multiple routes for rapid evacuation in the event of natural disasters, fires, etc.

In particular, the mayor of Cuorgnè points out the criticality of the Montefibre site due to the difficult accessibility from the Western Canavese area and likewise the limited availability of parking spaces, already observed in the pre-pandemic era, in the surrounding areas as the parking lots are also at the service of the Court of Ivrea.
