In the province of Manabi A new Joint Task Force has been operating since April 5, 2024 to combat terrorism. This new force operates directly from Manta.
The purpose of this project is to reduce crime rates, hit the economy of criminal structures, capture and neutralize members of terrorist organizations.

Through the work of military intelligence, several conflict points in the city were identified and several people were captured in the operations, ammunition and large-caliber weapons were confiscated.
The minister Loffredo met with commanders and military personnel to evaluate strategic actions and noted that operations will continue to intensify in this province throughout the Ecuador.
