Last Monday, April 15, 2024, the Provincial Board of Chimborazo extended its comprehensive support to the 42 members of the “Association for the Community Development of the Disabled and their Families” of the Nitiluisa community, Calpi parish, Riobamba canton.

42 people from the association benefited.

The Type B Health Center of the Board of Trustees provided assistance in three essential areas: the visit of the Mobile Health Unit with free medical services in general medicine, dentistry and physiotherapy; the issuance of cards for Inclusive Medical Care, which offers a 50% discount on Health Center services; and the free delivery of wheelchairs and canes to priority groups.

Norma Reinoso, president of the Provincial Board of Trustees, led the delivery of these resources and expressed her gratitude for the coordinated efforts. “We thank doctors and social work for their dedication to reaching those who need it most. We are committed to the well-being of the community and we will continue working together with the prefect to provide this type of assistance,” Reinoso stated. On this day, 42 people from the association benefited from the various aid provided by the Provincial Board of Trustees. Darwin Poveda, director, highlighted the institution’s commitment to the inhabitants of Chimborazo by offering mobile health services, medical care cards at reduced prices and technical aids.

Lucario Sisa, president of the community, expressed his gratitude for the attention received. “We appreciate the Board’s willingness to provide physiotherapy, general medicine and dentistry services. These social aid are of great importance for our community, especially for people with disabilities, single mothers and older adults,” he concluded.
