In the trial involving numerous rapes in a Nuremberg asylum center, the defendant has now filed an appeal. The regional court sentenced the former security employee to ten years in prison last week. He is said to have raped a woman in the accommodation 62 times and another woman five times. He is also said to have threatened the women that he would take advantage of his position and have their children taken away from them. During the trial, the man denied the allegations and accused the women of lying; his defense attorney called for an acquittal. Now the process will probably move on to the next instance.
