Changsha Evening News reported on February 14th that the fifth day of the Spring Festival holiday saw an influx of tourists in the province. The combination of the God of Wealth bringing wealth and fortune and Valentine’s Day led to a surge in enthusiasm for travel among citizens and tourists.
According to mobile phone signaling big data modeling analysis, the province received a total of 17.5456 million tourists on the fifth day of the Spring Festival holiday, with 28.46% coming from outside the province. The per capita tourist expenditure was calculated to be 661.04 yuan.
To celebrate Valentine’s Day, many scenic spots in Changsha launched special activities, including the opportunity to sit on the Ferris wheel and watch Changsha at night, enjoy a love firework show, and visit unique date spots.
Changsha Window of the World introduced a special edition of the “Kowloon Gathering Temple Fair” on Valentine’s Day, featuring a fireworks show and the release of 999 love balloons. The romantic atmosphere attracted tourists to capture the moment with non-stop photo taking. Similarly, Tongguanyao Ancient Town offered visitors the chance to experience the local culture, visit temple fair markets, and enjoy various traditional activities.
In total, there were 952 cultural and tourism units monitored in the province, with a passenger flow of 2.172 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 46.81%. This included 380 museums, libraries, and cultural centers, which had a total of 177,300 visitors, marking a significant increase from the previous year. Additionally, the 398 accommodation units included in the statistical monitoring received 70,000 tourists, contributing to an operating income of 30.9198 million yuan.
Overall, the province experienced a significant boost in tourism activity during the Spring Festival holiday, indicating a strong recovery in the tourism sector.
