RONCO CANAVESE
It may seem paradoxical but in addition to the very crowded Sicily and Sardinia, stormed by tourists from all over Europe and who now risk the yellow zone, even in the small Canavese there is a potential outbreak of Coronavirus. In the midst of the mountains and between municipalities that in winter struggle to arrive in double figures in terms of numbers of residents.
The alarm went off in the Ronco valley, in Valel Soana, where, after months with the number of cases anchored to zero, the positives have risen to 23. And cases are also feared in Valle Orco. Perhaps due to the many gathering occasions: a lot of religious festivals and the evening “nightlife” of young people. The first to be alarmed was the mayor Danilo Crosasso who asked all citizens to promptly report any positive cases to the Municipality. So tonight (Friday 13th) as yesterday evening (Thursday 12th) in Ronco there is a rapid swab service in Piazza Mistral.
The mayor specifically communicated that “in the municipal area, positive cases have been detected by means of a rapid test” and in order “to monitor the real situation” he invited, in fact, “to notify the municipal offices”.
After the positive cases of Covid recorded in recent days, there is a lot of concern among residents and vacationers and also among the many descendants of emigrants, who have arrived in the valley to spend their holidays, given that to return to France and Switzerland they must show a test negative. The presence of some positive cases emerged between Tuesday and Wednesday leading to the temporary closure of three bar-restaurants (two in the capital and one in the Molino hamlet) which yesterday, Thursday, were sanitized and today should reopen as of this morning.
“One of the causes of this situation could be the failure to observe the protection measures during the various meeting occasions in recent days,” they say in the village.
