BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) (ITALPRESS) – “I believe it is necessary that each Member State, the European Parliament and the European Commission in the areas of their competence, take steps backwards to take some steps forward all together”. This is the comment of the Minister of Agricultural and Food Policies Stefano Patuanelli released to journalists on the sidelines of the discussions on the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy at the Agriculture and Fisheries Council in Brussels. “It is necessary to close the agreement on the new CAP post 2020, understand the needs of the agricultural systems of the various states and make an effort on green architecture and social conditionality”, which are “the two elements still under discussion”. Patuanelli then added that “the debate goes on” and “on our part there is the maximum willingness to deal with various topics”, but the element of conditionality must be “a founding element of the new CAP”.
