Patrizio Bianchi at Sole 24 Ore: «Reforms at the start with the Pnrr. Green pass, we will help schools with checks “

«The green pass is a tool to protect everyone, especially the most fragile and schools will not be left alone in managing the controls. Since the beginning of my mandate, I have invested 2 billion for the restart, and we have already hired 50 thousand teachers, much more than double what was implemented in previous years. But the year that is about to begin – underlined the Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi – is important to carry out, thanks to the Pnrr, profound reforms, which overcome the delays that have accumulated in too many years. We have already started with several calls, in particular on school construction. Think of the 700 million destined for kindergartens and preschools. We will then focus on technical and professional education, and on orientation, already in the seventh grade, in an anti-mismatch key. And from next year the competitions will be annual, and prepared young people will enter. In short, we are talking about recovery but also about future reforms ».

The overwhelming majority of the school staff, whom I want to thank again, understood the importance of vaccination, making a fundamental gesture to protect themselves, the most fragile and the entire school. Then there are those who cannot be vaccinated, due to health problems, who must be protected precisely because they are more exposed. There remains a quota of people who, for various reasons, do not want to get vaccinated and who will assume their individual responsibilities. As the President of the Republic said, getting vaccinated is an act of civil and moral responsibility, even towards female students, who are joining the campaign with great enthusiasm. Vaccination is the weapon to get everyone back to normal. This is why we have approved the obligation of the green pass: it is an instrument for the protection of everyone, starting with the most fragile and schools will be supported in the management of controls. We have already hired 12,000 Ata personnel and added another 12,000 to tackle the restart of the school year.

Which school will the 7 million students find: with the same problems as in September 2020?

Thanks to vaccines and the work done by the government, the situation has changed a lot compared to a year ago. Since our inauguration, which took place in February, we have worked with the objective of returning to the presence and in safety. I remember that during the third wave, in the spring, we were able, with the great contribution of the managers and all the staff, to keep the younger children in attendance. Since after Easter we have taken everyone back to school and have carried out the State Exams in the presence. I also thank President Draghi for the great attention given to the school. For the recovery we have approved a clear framework of rules. Since the beginning of our mandate, we have invested 2 billion euros for the restart. Three hundred million were given to schools before the summer, in the first support decree, to which the resources allocated with the support-bis have already been added: 410 million given directly to schools to deal with the health emergency, 500 million to local authorities for school transport, 400 million to hire teachers and staff for the enhancement of skills in particular in the most crowded classrooms and finally another 270 million given to local authorities for light building interventions or to rent replacement spaces for teaching.
