“In this sequence we involved the real inhabitants of Lunana,” says in the video Pawo Choyning Dorji, director of Lunana. The village at the end of the world. “Many of them didn’t even know what cinema was. In fact, they don’t act here, they are natural ”.
The film tells the true story of Ugyen, a young teacher from modern Bhutan sent to work in the school in Lunana, a remote village in the country, where there is not even electricity. Little by little he begins to know the difficulties in the life of his students, until he grows fond of the village and the strength with which he resists.
