The Tenth Armored Brigade of the National Army with operations in Cesar and La Guajira, issued Resolution 001 of 2024, which suspends the carrying of firearms and traumatic weapons in both departments. This measure is contemplated until December 31 of this current year.
In this way, the national security and defense agency seeks to preserve the conditions of security and effectiveness of the rights and duties of citizens in this jurisdiction.
Likewise, it establishes that the competent authorities must impose the sanction of confiscation on anyone who carries firearms and does not have the special permit, or is not within the exceptions contemplated in the restriction measure.
The general suspension resolution also covers those holders of traumatic weapons, in accordance with the classification that these hold as low-lethality firearms, in accordance with the provisions of Decree 1417 of 2021.
Public force officials and officials assigned to entities for such purposes are exempt from the measure.
