Pnrr works deemed admissible will be financed. Fedriga: “We thank the Government for listening to us”

UDINE. Now it is official: the works of the Pnrr of Udine and Pordenone initially excluded from the national division of the Government despite having been judged admissible, will be financed and, therefore, will be able to be carried out in the coming years as foreseen by the time schedule of the national plan.

At the Italian level, in fact, a further 905 million, relating to the period 2022-2026, were destined to strengthen investments in urban regeneration projects aimed at reducing situations of marginalization and social degradation already launched in implementation of the NRP with particular attention to administrations. of the North.

The Government, in detail, accepted the proposal made by Massimiliano Fedriga (in the role of president of the Conference of the Regions), Antonio Decaro (number one of the National Association of Municipalities) and Michele De Pascale (president of the Union of Italian Provinces) in recent days to give “a strong development” to local economies by responding to the needs of all regional territories.

“We thank the Government – Fedriga said, together with Decaro and De Pascale – because through the increase in resources and the scrolling of the rankings, most of the projects already declared admissible will find a concrete realization”.

Friuli Venezia Giulia, going into detail, should be entitled to an amount of over 50 million.

The complete subdivision of the funds to the capitals is still awaiting definitive confirmation, but as regards Udine there are first of all 10 million for the renovation of the former Frigo and as many – in total – for the new preschool of via Adige and for the works on the former Stringher.

In Pordenone, on the other hand, the focus is on loans, for an amount of 20 million, for the underground parking in Piazza del Popolo and for the works of the “Polo young” which has as its fulcrum the redevelopment of the former Fair.

The funding obtained by the Government puts an end to the fuss that has arisen in the region after zero in recent weeks – at the level of funds – originally envisaged for the Municipality of Udine as part of the national call for funding for urban regeneration. The same applies to Pordenone, Gorizia and Trieste, even if as regards the regional capital the Municipality had explained that it had not participated in this specific announcement because, as underlined by the Councilor for Public Works Elisa Lodi, the same “required to have, in that moment, projects ready and can be set up in the three-year plan of the works: the condition was not there and we focused on something else ».

The only exception, in terms of appropriations, was the city of Monfalcone, which had been granted a loan of 1 million 600 thousand euros, but which, with its dowry alone, was certainly not enough to change the fate of Friuli Venezia Giulia , relegated to the last place in the Italian ranking in terms of disbursements.

At the beginning of the year it was in particular the mayors of Udine and Pordenone – respectively Pietro Fontanini and Alessandro Ciriani – who thundered against the choices of the Government asking for an active involvement – as happened later – of the Region and parliamentarians.

“The current update – comments the M5s deputy Luca Sut – confirms the veracity of what I said, regarding the commitment that the Government has taken to find the 900 million necessary to cover the financing of those projects for urban regeneration, admitted in the ranking, but remained out due to the use of the social vulnerability index of Istat ».
