IVREA. Una shows that it is also a clear statement of principles. “Inclusion, the fight against discrimination, the removal of all the barriers that divide us are the ideals that the CGIL wants to pursue. This is the home of the workers but also of all the citizens who share the founding values of our confederation “, said Gianni Ambrosio, head of the CGIL d’Ivrea, in inaugurating, on Friday 6 in the hall of the Ivrea headquarters of the union in Piazza Perrone , the painting exhibition “Let’s break prejudice, when art meets mental discomfort”. The exhibition, which was created in collaboration with the Anpi Section of Ivrea and Basso Canavese and with the patronage of the City of Ivrea, collects paintings and drawings from the art workshop of the psychiatric community “Casa dell’Ospitalità “Of Ivrea. “We have promoted this initiative because our anti-fascism also means love for life, for peace, for freedom and for solidarity, and culture is the best way to spread these values”, said Mario Beiletti, president of the Anpi section.
Begun in 2002, the Bottega d’Arte has since been led by maestro Luca Oliveri. “Only a small part of the works created for you are on display today,” he explained. «Fundamental, with these forms of expression, is the suspension of judgment, because facing the latter would be too heavy for our guests, which is why I always tend to emphasize the positive aspects by suggesting ways to improve. My job is to teach how to paint, but if I notice an original trait I absolutely have to take action to make it emerge since ours is a real painting workshop to teach the oil technique in order to create expressive and unique works ».
Finally, Oliveri highlighted: “There is still a psychological wall that keeps individuals with mental discomfort separate, relegating them to the boundaries of society.” Carla Zoppo, operational director of the Casa dell’Ospitalità community, concluded by thanking Oliveri for his dedication: «Luca also leads his students to visit exhibitions of great artists, preparing them for the vision and guiding them. Like all of us, he follows the guests for the time they walk alongside us, putting his own effort into bringing beauty to the world ». The exhibition will be open from 9 to 13 May during office hours (9 – 12.30 and 14 – 17.30).
