Quinchía panel workers receive implements to improve their work

Panela is the main economic activity of the Cañaveral El Retiro Paneleros Association in Quinchía (ASOPCR), which last Saturday received implements valued at $25 million pesos to improve its work. It is a state-of-the-art sugar mill with a production capacity of 900 kilograms per hour, accompanied by an 800 horsepower diesel engine.

According to Sergio Alejandro Aguirre, representative of ASOPCR, he highlighted the positive impact on the community, benefiting 10 families directly and another 15 indirectly. This investment promises to boost the economic and social development of the region. Likewise, he expressed his gratitude for the support received:

«About a year ago it was proposed to continue this project, we began to meet every eight days on Saturdays and hold invitations; Today we can thank God first for what we have obtained and also for the commitment of the Government of Risaralda, as well as for the colleagues who are present here and are benefiting,” he indicated.

Additionally, the members of the panela producers’ association have demonstrated their commitment and determination by raising 20 million pesos between loans and treats for the construction of the shed necessary to begin panela production. This display of teamwork and joint effort reflects the entrepreneurial spirit and dedication of the region’s producers.
