This Sunday, April 21, 2024, the Referendum and Popular Consultation will be held in Ecuador, which includes 11 questions.
Voters will evaluate the proposals of President Daniel Noboa, the questions range from the support of the Armed Forces to the Police Force, to the intensification of penalties for severe crimes, regulation of weapons, extradition of citizens, hourly employment modalities and international arbitration .
Voting hours are from 07:00 am to 17:00 pm, and voters can consult their voting center on the CNE website or application Consulta CNE
To vote, you must present your identity card or passport, even if it has expired. The Civil Registry will operate with extended hours on April 20 and 21 to obtain identification cards.
The penalties for not voting are 10% of the Unified Basic Salary ($46) and 15% for electoral board members absent without valid reason. Unjustified abandonment of the polling station carries fines of between 10 and 20 Unified Basic Salaries ($4,600 to $9,200).
