LIGNANO. Covid has changed the habits of Friulians even when it comes to going on vacation. In fact, many have chosen to spend the summer 2021 in Lignano, which recorded exceptional numbers of visitors – with peaks of 200 thousand people a day -: data that had not been seen for over forty years.
Many have opted to rent an umbrella for the entire season, but there was no lack of discontent over the news that will concern next summer. Here, in detail, how the season ticket for 2022 will change (in this case only in Riviera).
In Riviera, while until this summer those who wanted to secure a certain beach spot had to pay a deposit (30%) of the total amount by April and then pay the bill in June, from next summer this mechanism will change: the deposit must be paid by 19 September 2021, while the balance must be paid by 15 March 2022.
This change, decided by the Società Imprese Lignano spa, was enough to spark the discontent, already hatched for some time, of a hundred loyal customers of Bagni 3, 4 and 5. Basically, pay the bill for the seasonal subscription of the umbrella even before the beginning of the summer, it made tourists annoyed by the conditions of the beach equipment, the dated and unsuitable facilities for the elderly and disabled, the lack of motorized rescue vehicles (there are only rescue skates) and the view of the sea hidden by bathers who spend whole days lying on the water’s edge (where parking is prohibited by the trade union ordinance).
In fact, around a hundred customers ask that the previous conditions be re-established and that, with advance payments, services are improved and furnishings renewed.
«In view of the next bathing season there will be no changes – announced Emanuele Rodeano, president of Lignano Sabbiadoro Gestioni spa -. Whether you want to rent the umbrella for the entire summer period or for a shorter period of time, you can book by paying a deposit of 20% of the amount at any time and then pay by May 31st. The deadline for paying the balance refers, however, only to seasonal workers, since those who book for shorter periods can pay on arrival ».
At the beach office 19, also in Sabbiadoro, managed by the Andretta family, it works differently: «We already know which umbrella to reserve for our long-standing customers who pay when they arrive or before departure – explains Marco Andretta -. There are no deposits, not even for new customers, with whom we choose the position of the umbrella ».
To secure your favorite spot on the beach in the Pineta stretch of beach, a deposit (of 50 euros) must be paid by the end of September. This applies to seasonal, mini-seasonal or shorter period umbrella subscriptions.
«During the year, once the new rates for beach equipment have been chosen, we send our customers multiple offers from which they can choose – explains Lignano Pineta spa -. In summary, the sooner you choose, the more substantial the discount: there are generally three proposals: by January 31, between February 1 and the end of March or by April 1. In any case – adds the company -, we are not mandatory, we meet the needs of customers “.
On the contrary, at the beach office 7 bis in Pineta there are no precise rules. And the manager, Guerrino Paschetto, explains: «Many of our customers are now loyal and, therefore, already tell me from one summer to the next that they will return either for the whole summer or for a few specific weeks. For this reason it is enough that I take the note and they already know, independently, to pay a deposit and then pay on arrival ». –
