According to the state office, this is work that had to be postponed due to the early onset of winter last year. Traffic out of town is routed again via Petersdorf, Buchholz and Neustadt. In the opposite direction, drivers have to avoid Woffleben, Gudersleben, Liebenrode and Günzerode.
The B4 is the main artery of the Nordhausen district. It runs completely through the city from north to south. Commuters drive to work here, trucks transport goods across the region and columns of motorcyclists travel through them into the Harz Mountains. Fire and rescue services rely on the B4 just as much as school buses and parent taxis.
