A source close to the family of Sheikh Abu Zaid Al-Kumaim said that he was released at dawn today, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, corresponding to Ramadan 30, 1445 AH.
Al-Kumaim heads the preparatory committee for the Yemeni Teachers Club, which was formed last year in Sanaa.
Al-Kumaim was arrested in October 2023 after his home in Sanaa was raided by a security force, and he was transferred to a detention facility in the Security and Intelligence Service.
The Teachers’ Club had taken up the issue of disbursing salaries for the educational sector in Sana’a, and issued more than one statement demanding the disbursement of salaries.
