Santa Rosa de Cabal Farmer’s Market now has a website

This was confirmed by the mayor of Santa Rosa de Cabal, Paulo Gómez, on March 22 through the launch of the electronic commerce of the Agroecological and Artisanal Peasant Market of the municipality of Las Araucarias, an idea that arises and is born from the need to adapt during these times where technology has strengthened. With the aim of facilitating access to fresh and quality products, this virtual market has been an initiative that has managed to consolidate thanks to the joint efforts of various actors in the peasant sector.

“It is an idea that arises and was born as a result of the pandemic, when the markets had to be delivered at home, the peasant market in its different members was able to contribute in that difficult moment that was being experienced. The people who today have their products in this virtual showcase have been working together, articulately and constantly. This page has its payment platform, the product can be requested at home and such service will have an additional charge. This is a great facility for those who, due to their time and different reasons, cannot attend the peasant market in person,” explained Sandra Milena Loaiza, Secretary of Rural and Agricultural Development of the municipality of Santa Rosa de Cabal.

The platform will be active from Sundays until Thursday at midnight, giving interested parties the opportunity to make their purchases and select from a wide variety of products. These can be collected at the La Umata collection site or delivered through home service. Among the participating producers and members are prominent brands such as Agrolimpias, Café Mi Terruño, Colplátanos, Natur Fruver, Elena Gourmet, La Colmena de Nora and GHEE Clarified Butter.
