After Sunday’s success in Kitzbuehel, the German Linus Strasser also won the Night Race, the famous night slalom in Schladming, in 1.45.20, in a race largely in the rain and with decidedly less than perfect surfaces. For him, at 31 years old, it is the fifth success of his career and the second in Schladming after the 2022 victory.
Second was the Norwegian Timon Haugan in 1.45.48 and third was the French Clement Noel in 1.46.22.
Disappointment instead for the Italian Alex Vinatzer, excellent fifth after the first heat, who got on after the last intermediate when he was still in the lead. With still a good performance, albeit dotted with many inevitable small errors given the condition of the track, the Lombard Tommaso Sala 9/o in 1.49.68 is the only Italian in the ranking.
The next stage of the men’s cup is in Germany, in Garmisch, with two super-Gs scheduled for Saturday and Sunday: Dominik Paris and Mattia Casse return to the track.
