SENA Casanare certified peasant soldiers in bovine insemination techniques

18 peasant soldiers received their well-deserved certificates for successfully completing the artificial insemination course in bovine females. The presentation of diplomas was chaired by the director of SENA Casanare, Johana Astrid Medina Peña, and Major Timoti Canencio Toledo.

During their training process, the apprentice soldiers carried out internships at the SENA Agroindustrial and Business Strengthening Center in Yopal, where they were able to become familiar with the reproductive system of female bovines and learn to carry out effective artificial insemination processes.

For professional soldier Cristian Vargas Rodríguez, the course was of vital importance due to “the impact that can be generated in the reproductive area of Casanare such as genetic improvement. “We can improve many genotypic and phenotypic aspects, improving productivity”

The knowledge acquired not only enhances soldiers’ skills in the military field, but also provides them with valuable tools for their daily lives and opens doors to future opportunities.

“On behalf of SENA Casanare and on behalf of the entire community present, I congratulate each of you for this exceptional achievement. Their efforts, perseverance and commitment are inspiring examples for all of us. I urge you to move forward with determination and use the knowledge acquired to positively impact your lives and the communities you serve,” said Johana Astrid Medina Peña, director of the Casanare Regional during the ceremony.

This alliance between SENA Casanare and the VIII Division has allowed nearly 200 soldiers to be trained in recent years, focused on strengthening the agricultural sector with specialized courses, including artificial insemination in bovine females, health and reproduction in horses, among others.

With an inclusive approach, this initiative seeks to provide employment alternatives to soldiers from rural areas once they return to civilian life, offering them opportunities in the countryside or in agricultural activities related to their new knowledge.

This course was carried out under the AgroSENA and CampeSENA strategies, reaffirming SENA’s commitment to promoting comprehensive training and development of the agricultural sector in Colombia.
